Special Dance Programs for Pre-Schools and Early Learning Centers
The Gypsy Folk Ensemble has a unique and creative series of entertaining and educational world dance programs for children at preschools, Montessori schools, summer camps, and other early education facilities. These shows combine a professional dance performance with very active participation in dance for the students. All of the programs are 30 to 45 minutes in length and are presented by four dancers in folk costume. Gypsy has been involved in bringing culturally diverse and educational dance activities to children in schools at all levels in the greater Los Angeles area for more than 30 years.
Dance and movement for young children can bring an increase in coordination, social awareness, basic math and self-esteem, as well as providing a focus for creativity. Around the World - a world tour with one folk dance from each continent (including Antarctica!)
All our programs involve both a performance and having the children learn several dances.
